Nursing Education and Leadership Opportunity

Intermountain Health, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing Development and Education to join our team. This exciting opportunity will enable you to utilize your leadership skills to oversee human resources within the Training and Development, Central Education, and Nursing Professional Development Division.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing education and experience in managing clinical staff performance in compliance with established timeframes. You will work collaboratively with Clinical Educators, Nurse Professional Development Specialists/Generalists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists to develop processes that promote excellent patient care and foster a culture of continuous learning.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic action plans to support the goals and objectives of Intermountain Health. You will ensure that hospital policies, protocols, and practice standards are upheld in orientation classes, competencies, and educational offerings. Your expertise will also be invaluable in assessing and holding staff accountable to hospital and department competencies.

About the Position

  • Develop and implement strategic action plans to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure hospital policies, protocols, and practice standards are upheld in orientation classes, competencies, and educational offerings.
  • Assess and hold staff accountable to hospital and department competencies.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Educators, Nurse Professional Development Specialists/Generalists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists to develop processes that promote excellent patient care.
  • Oversee all unit Nursing Professional Development Generalists, Specialists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and student placements.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience.
  • At least three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • At least two (2) years of leadership/management experience, including process improvement and change management experience.
