About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Federal Project Manager to join our team in the Central Civil Works Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing flood risk management design and construction projects for USACE, USIBWC, and NRCS.

Our team is passionate about making a positive impact on community safety and developing solutions for the technical challenges these projects bring. We are looking for a professional with a strong understanding of civil works, flood risk mitigation, and coastal storm risk management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of projects from proposal to close-out.
  • Prepare project work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets, and communicate these to project team members.
  • Monitor and manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Adhere to AECOM and federal/client quality control and safety planning and requirements.
  • Develop detailed subcontractor scopes and bid sheets, and follow the FAR in subcontractor selection process.
  • Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions with a strong understanding of the impact and implications of decisions.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
  • Advise and mentor less experienced staff on project management skills and mentor staff interested in project management as their Deputy Project Managers.
  • Oversee design staff and team members for civil works, flood risk reduction, and CSRM projects in completion of alternatives analysis, value engineering, plans, specifications, Design Documentation Reports, and Opinions of Probable Cost.
  • Identify new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, promote AECOM's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients, and assist in the technical write-ups and strategies for TORN responses and Statements of Qualifications for MATOC/SATOC/IDIQ/IDC pursuits.
  • Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and draft complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
  • Monitor and report financial status of projects to upper management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Driver's License that allows you to drive during the course of your employment.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 20+ years of professional experience, 10+ of those years as a project manager or deputy project manager for large, complex federal projects.
