Job Summary
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise and teaches courses, adhering to lesson plans, meeting course objectives, and maintaining academic faculty ethical and professional behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Course Development and Delivery
- Creates and/or uploads an appropriate course syllabus for each course to the Learning Management System.
- Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements.
- Industry Expertise
- Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.
- Curriculum Development
- Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
- Record Keeping and Communication
- Maintains accurate and complete scholastic records, including but not limited to course messaging in the LMS, grades, census rosters, and attendance records.
Requirements
- Education
- Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum 5 years' food service management experience or related experience in the field of hospitality management/food service required.
- Minimum 3 years' beverage management experience or related experience preferred.
- Current ServSafe Alcohol Certificate preferred. Must obtain within 3 months of hire, required.
- Skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills where you can work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to quickly learn & use personal computer and various software programs utilized daily in a teaching environment, strong Microsoft Office skills.
