About Our Team

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Operations Assistant to join our team at The University of Iowa. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical support services, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.


About You

To succeed in this position, you must possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, along with previous clinical social work or pharmacy-related experience. Certification as a Pharmacy Support Person by the Iowa Pharmacy Board is also mandatory.


Main Responsibilities
  • Pharmaceutical Support: Provide medication-related support services, including counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, documenting relevant details and following established protocols.
  • Effective Communication: Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Compensation Package
  • Competitive salary: $68,000 - $78,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Fringe benefit package including paid vacation, sick leave, health, dental, life, and disability insurance options, and generous employer contributions into retirement plans.
