Job Summary:

As a Full-time Assistant Branch Manager at First Mid Bank & Trust, you will play a vital role in leading our team to deliver exceptional customer and team member experiences. You will be responsible for maintaining a position of trust and responsibility, ensuring all customer or team member information remains confidential. You will also communicate and ensure adherence to all bank initiatives, compliance, security, and operational policies and procedures as well as financial loss standards. Additionally, you will supervise and coach Tellers and Universal Bankers on sales and operational duties, assist the Branch Manager as needed, and provide leadership in their absence. You will also analyze and review legal documentation associated with opening accounts, resolve customer concerns promptly and efficiently, and ensure the audit integrity, risk management, and security of the branch. Furthermore, you will assign and schedule staff to ensure optimum service coverage, even distribution of the workload, and appropriate project delegation. You will also oversee the opening/closing process of the branch, meet with branch staff regularly to organize sales efforts, communicate procedural/product changes, and resolve issues to optimize branch performance and employee engagement. You will select, train, supervise, and evaluate the branch staff to enhance individual productivity and enable them to function according to their respective job description. You may also be required to work in other First Mid Banking centers. Responsibilities:

General:
  • Lead the team to ensure an exceptional customer and team member experience.
  • Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer or team member information confidential.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to all bank initiatives, compliance, security, and operational policies and procedures as well as financial loss standards.
  • Supervise and coach Tellers and Universal Bankers on sales and operational duties.
  • Assist Branch Manager as needed and provide leadership in their absence.
  • May process customer account requests and maintain a cash drawer as needed.
  • May process consumer loan requests.
  • Analyze and review legal documentation associated with opening accounts.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure and is held accountable for informing Branch Management regarding the audit integrity, risk management, and security of the branch.
  • Assign and schedule staff to ensure optimum service coverage, even distribution of the workload, and appropriate project delegation.
  • Oversee the opening/closing process of the branch.
  • Meet with branch staff regularly (both 1:1 and in group meetings) to organize sales efforts, communicate procedural/product changes, and resolve issues to optimize branch performance and employee engagement.
  • Select, train, supervise, and evaluate the branch staff to enhance individual productivity and enable them to function according to their respective job description.
  • May be required to work in other First Mid Banking centers.
Sales:
  • Identify opportunities to expand and maintain existing consumer and business banking relationships, while displaying sales leadership.
  • Develop goals for the retail team and access progress of the individuals and the branch to meet corporate initiatives.
  • Serve as an ambassador for company culture.
  • Demonstrate the ability to professionally represent First Mid in terms of appearance and verbal/written communication.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
Experience:
  • 2+ years' experience in the financial industry.
  • 1+ years of sales or goal-based environment.
Skills:
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of advanced math functions that will allow for the analysis of credit and financial information.
