About the Role:

The Daughters of Charity Ministries, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Support Staff to join our team. As a Dietary Support Staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, as well as assisting with food preparation and serving meals to our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the care and maintenance of the work area, equipment, and supplies, including removing recyclables, transporting food items to respective storage areas, and cleaning kitchen equipment as scheduled.
  • Perform various tasks necessary to assist cooks with the preparation of scheduled meals, including making salads and other food items as directed by the cook, assisting in serving meals in a tasteful and attractive manner, and ensuring that all food is cleared and properly stored after the meal.
  • Carry out functions necessary to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including performing and documenting cleaning duties as scheduled, scraping, scouring, washing, and rinsing of pots, pans, utensils, and equipment, sweeping and wet mopping the kitchen floor, taking out the trash, and sanitizing the trash barrels as scheduled.
  • Keep the dining rooms and kitchens clean and organized, including cleaning the tables and counters after the meal, loading and starting the dishwasher, unloading the machine, and putting the dishes and utensils away, and maintaining an ongoing schedule for cleaning those rooms and the kitchens.
  • Maintain professional discretion and strict confidentiality.
  • Respond proactively to change and participate in team efforts to meet departmental and community goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and lift up to 10 lbs. over 2/3 of the day, walk, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs. 1/3-2/3 of the day, and lift up to 100 lbs. 1/3 of the day.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme kitchen heat, sharp objects, and moderate noise.
