Job Overview:
A Polysomnography Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the Polysomnographic Technologist by conducting comprehensive sleep studies and analyses under their direct supervision. This position is essential for delivering high-quality patient care in sleep medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the technician will:
- Contribute to achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to customer service, aiming for positive feedback in patient satisfaction surveys.
- Gather and analyze patient data to address individual needs, including physical and psychological aspects.
- Prepare and calibrate necessary equipment for sleep testing, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
- Apply electrodes and sensors following established protocols.
- Conduct physiological calibrations to guarantee accurate signal collection and make adjustments as needed.
- Assist in positive airway pressure (PAP) titration studies and mask fittings according to industry standards.
- Document observations related to sleep stages and clinical events in accordance with procedural guidelines.
- Support qualified staff in implementing interventions that ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing education on medical equipment usage.
