We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments on assigned patients, documenting all relevant information.
- Support patient and family needs by identifying learning levels and readiness, and documenting education records.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly and effectively.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, prioritizing patient needs and nursing diagnoses.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to plan and deliver patient care.
- Assess patients for discharge planning and make referrals as necessary.
- Implement nursing interventions consistent with established plans of care.
- Demonstrate safe medication administration practices.
- Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions, modifying plans of care as needed.
- Oversee and direct the work of patient care or support techs, maintaining overall accountability for assigned patients.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in leading and directing others, addressing conflicts directly and appropriately.
Qualifications
- Registered Nursing license issued by the state of Illinois.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- BLS through American Heart Association.
- Minimum of two years of related RN experience for critical care or specialty units (e.g., ED, ICU, SCN).
- Minimum of one year of related RN experience for non-critical care or general units (e.g., Med/surg, Observation).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- National Certification in area of specialty.
