At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Road Equipment Specialist to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our fleet road equipment.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $42,000 per year, plus benefits and a retention bonus. Our Mechanic Technicians start at $32 per hour PLUS a $10,000 retention bonus. Annual Tool Allowance is also included.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet road equipment, including tractors, trailers, thermo-kings, converter dollies, and maintenance vehicles. They must ensure compliance with all state and federal trucking regulations.

The specialist will be responsible for documentation, completion, and maintenance of logs for all repairs and parts used daily. Additionally, they will perform road rescue as needed.

Requirements
  1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).
  2. Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
  3. Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  4. Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  5. Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
  7. Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
  8. Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
  9. Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have 3 years of commercial Diesel mechanic or reefer experience.
  • Or 2 years of Diesel Mechanic exp with TK or Refrigeration certification.
