Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain the mission of St. Joseph's Physicians, delivering quality, accessible healthcare with compassion and service excellence.
  • Perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician or other healthcare provider.
  • Organize and maintain patient medical records and equipment.
  • Accurately document patient information within medical records.
  • Conduct pre-visit planning, reviewing patient charts, test results, and correspondence.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, taking vital signs and recording medical history.
  • Provide timely communication with patients, make inquiries, and execute follow-up tasks.
  • Assist with scheduling tests and treatment, pre-certifying patients for hospital care and procedures.
  • Support providers and nurses with medical and office procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • At least 10 months' work and/or clinical training experience in the healthcare field.
  • Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs.
  • Experience using an electronic health record system.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and respect.
  • Ability to obtain and record patient data, including prior health history, family history, allergies, current medications, and current complaints.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
  • Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA.
Work Environment

This is a light work position, requiring standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Some lifting is required.

Category I - Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.

Pay Range: $18.50 - $26.85 plus an additional $1 per hour for department differential.

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
