Scenic Carpenter

About the Role:

The Scenic Carpenter is a key member of our team at HMR Designs, responsible for constructing and repairing props and structures used for our events. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build props and structures for events, including stage flats, platforming, and temporary structures
• Perform carpentry tasks, such as cutting, assembling, and finishing wood
• Ensure a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
• Collaborate with the installation team to set up and dismantle event structures
• Operate various power tools, including table saws, drills, and sanders

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in carpentry or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in carpentry, with a focus on scenic construction and installation
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with rigging and lifting equipment
• Ability to drive a 26' box truck, with a valid C-Class driver's license
