About the Role:
The Scenic Carpenter is a key member of our team at HMR Designs, responsible for constructing and repairing props and structures used for our events. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and repair props and structures as needed, ensuring high-quality finishes and attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with the installation team to ensure seamless execution of events, including stage flats, platforming, and temporary structure erection.
- Operate various power tools, including table saws, drills, and sanders, with precision and safety.
- Participate in on-site work, including driving a 26' box truck (requires a C-Class driver's license).
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in carpentry, scenic design, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rigging experience.
- Ability to drive a 26' box truck.
