Job Summary

The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Geriatrics/Palliative Care Physician to join our team as a Medical Director. This is a full-time position responsible for providing direct patient care and clinical oversight of the Community Living Center (CLC). The ideal candidate will have experience working with veterans and a strong background in geriatrics and palliative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive management of physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients
  • Participate in performance improvement and contribute to improved quality of care through mortality and morbidity reviews, peer reviews, and occurrence screens
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Coordinator to ensure safe and appropriate CLC admissions
  • Support and direct the teaching mission at the CLC
  • Communicate with staff and leadership, including situational awareness, issue briefs, and weekly huddles
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Board certification in geriatric medicine and/or palliative care is preferred
