POSITION: Senior Housekeeping Manager

REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Housekeeping Manager is tasked with overseeing the effective functioning of the Housekeeping Division, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Engage with guests and staff in a courteous, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Manage departmental expenses to align with budgetary guidelines.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of all Housekeeping and Laundry staff.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Ensure compliance with grooming and uniform standards as per company policies.
  • Adhere to safety and operational regulations to promote a secure working environment.
  • Maintain a comprehensive key control system for the department.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of all guest areas, including lobbies and hallways.
  • Complete necessary documentation and communicate any operational discrepancies.
  • Ensure that the Housekeeping Department contributes positively to guest service metrics.
  • Prepare staff schedules based on business needs and payroll guidelines.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings to discuss departmental updates and training.
  • Manage inventory levels of Housekeeping supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure guest privacy and security by following established protocols.
  • Provide training and development for all Housekeeping personnel.
  • Address guest requests and concerns in a professional and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a hospitality setting; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proven supervisory experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and standard office software.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Capability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
