We are seeking a qualified Virtual Education Specialist to provide virtual speech therapy services to K-12 students in an Alabama school district. As a remote worker, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere within Alabama while making a direct impact on your students' communication progress.
About the Job:
This is a full-time position, starting in the 2024-2025 school year, and requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience in speech therapy. You will be responsible for assessing and treating speech and language disorders, developing individualized therapy plans, and collaborating with educational teams. You will also have access to a comprehensive toolkit filled with resources to enhance your sessions and a clinical and technical support team to assist you with everything from therapy strategies to platform support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual speech therapy to K-12 students using a secure online platform.
- Conduct speech assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions to address speech and language disorders.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and any changes to treatment plans.
- Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to track student progress and adjust therapy as needed.
- Utilize digital tools and resources to deliver engaging virtual lessons and exercises.
- Stay current on best practices in teletherapy and speech-language pathology, and adapt them for a virtual setting.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active Alabama state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting is preferred.
- Teletherapy experience or comfort with using online platforms for therapy is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to engage students effectively using virtual tools and resources.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a competitive salary for this role in the region, taking into account the location and industry standards.
