Job Purpose

The position of Call Center Crisis Interventionist III serves to actively resolve emergencies and crises for individuals served by MHMR Tarrant and its contracted entities and community partners. This role aims to mitigate crises in a trauma-informed and least restrictive manner, providing support to individuals of all ages through phone, SMS, or chat interactions. The program operates 24/7 to offer continuous support, requiring flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to all policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and best practices of MHMR.
  2. Exercise clinical judgment to mitigate crises, following clinical supervision and agency training.
  3. Provide evidence-informed information, referral, brief supportive listening, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention support to individuals in emotional distress.
  4. Coordinate emergency and case management services with community partners, including law enforcement, as applicable.
  5. Provide follow-up to high-risk callers reporting suicidal and/or homicidal thoughts and behaviors.
  6. Conduct assessments per program policies and procedures.
  7. Utilize resource referral databases to provide information and referral assistance to individuals seeking mental health and substance abuse services.
  8. Accurately and efficiently document interactions in call log software and electronic health records, if applicable.
  9. Support other programs within Crisis Services as needed.
  10. Perform administrative tasks as delegated by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Health and Human Services.
  • Eligible to obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS) certification.
  • One and a half (1.5) years of experience in the Health and Human Services field.
