Job Description

Accurus Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Business Operations to join our team. As a key member of our site leadership team, this role will be responsible for overseeing non-manufacturing operations, including supply chain and program management, and may manage other functional areas in support of manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in planning, monitoring, and reporting weekly, monthly, and annual business results, and prepare and/or oversee the management of operational performance metrics.
  • Manage customer support teams responsible for purchase order entry, scheduling, supply chain, and customer delivery compliance.
  • Supervise shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely and accurate processing of goods.
  • Maintain effective customer relations and manage a team of customer-facing personnel to ensure multiple points of contact with key customers and/or vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable elements of AS9100, ITAR, OSHA, internal processes, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to operate, measure, and drive the business, employing best practices and following established procedures to ensure accuracy of transactions and compliance with customer contracts, terms, and conditions.
  • Run regularly scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly reporting from the ERP, perform or assign associated work, and update metrics and internal dashboards accordingly.
  • Monitor order books and production schedules to ensure timely procurement activities, optimizing lead times, inventory levels, and third-party service vendors/subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with site leaders, business development personnel, General Managers, and other personnel at various position levels and locations.
  • Perform duties per the Accurus Delegation of Authority regulations and ensure adequate and timely approvals at higher levels when required.
  • Periodically visit vendors and suppliers, may visit customers, and occasionally travel for other company business.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a similar field is required, with preferred majors in management or supply-chain management.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in progressively responsible positions within program management and/or supply chain management in an engineered-product manufacturing business is required, with aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of leadership experience, including selection, performance management, and employee relations with both hourly and professional employees, is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multi-site Enterprise Resource Planning systems and utilization to support business processes is required, with Infor Visual experience preferred.
  • APIC's Certification is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes and methodologies, including financial implications for inventory management, supplier contracts, and freight terms (ITAR compliance and export experience preferred).
  • Experience with long-term customer contracts, engineering or other change notice procedures, and quality management systems (AS9100 preferred).
  • Customer-facing problem-solving and negotiation experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to handle unexpected challenges.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, securing company records, and demonstrating integrity in communications and actions.
  • Self-management skills, including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines.
  • Effective leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency in the use of ERP systems and associated reporting.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of work location is required, with an acceptable driver history report required.
Work Environment

The normal work environment is a typical office setting, with occasional visits to the manufacturing shop and warehousing departments. The employee may be exposed to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vapors, and hazards, including forklifts and other moving equipment. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, eye protection, and safety footwear, may be required during these visits.

Travel

Occasional travel by air and/or ground transportation is required, with some travel being overnight. A valid driver's license and acceptable driver history report are required.
