Position Overview

This full-time, on-site position for an Associate Attorney is pivotal within our Birmingham, MI office. In this role, you will engage in comprehensive legal research, draft essential legal documents, maintain communication with clients and opposing parties, and represent clients in various legal proceedings. Collaboration with fellow team members in a client-centric setting is key to this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all stages of extensive dockets from initial intake to resolution.
  • Conduct depositions, demonstrating exceptional questioning and information-gathering skills.
  • Formulate legal strategies and establish processes to support and implement agreed-upon practices.
  • Lead a team, including documenting instructions, providing training, conducting quality audits, and performing annual performance evaluations.
  • Make informed filing decisions based on strategies developed in collaboration with partners.
  • Work with the medical team to develop guidelines for record ordering and analyze medical documentation.
  • Actively engage in business development efforts, showcasing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate with clients to address concerns, clarify the litigation process, and guide them through each phase of their case.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Eligibility for admission to the Michigan State Bar through waiver or examination.
  • Strong academic background and proficient writing capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Preferred experience in personal injury law, particularly in motor vehicle accident cases.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
