Pay Rate:
$46.17 per hour

Shifts Offered:

  • Full-Time AM: 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
  • Full-Time PM: 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
  • Full-Time Weekend AM and PM
  • Part-Time Weekend AM and PM
  • Flexi/PRN options

Unit Overview:
The UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center is set to launch a cutting-edge inpatient rehabilitation facility.

This new establishment will feature 78 rehabilitation beds equipped with the latest technology, all aimed at enhancing functional activity.

Position Overview:


The role involves utilizing the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals, promoting health and preventing illness and injury.

Employing a systematic critical-thinking approach, the nurse will guide data collection, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention, and evaluation of responses to actual and potential health issues through activities such as health education, counseling, and providing supportive and restorative care.

The nurse will identify patient needs based on the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Synergy Model.

Responsibilities include delegating, coordinating, and managing all aspects of nursing care provided to patients, their families, and the community in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Patient care will be delivered in collaboration with patients, their families, and all healthcare team members, under the guidance of licensed physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, and/or dentists.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Work experience cannot substitute for the educational requirement. Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing is mandatory.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Depending on the unit or department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be necessary.
