Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care: Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with cancer, including those with complex medical needs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans: Collaborate with healthcare teams to create personalized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Conduct thorough assessments: Perform thorough physical and medical assessments to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab results and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments: Prescribe medications and treatments, including chemotherapy and other cancer therapies, as needed.
- Provide education and support: Educate patients and their families about cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
Requirements:
- MSN degree: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- NYS license: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- NYS NP license: Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
- Certifications: National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner and ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification (if working in the Infusion Center).
- Experience: Minimum two years' experience in an acute care setting, preferably in oncology.
