About the Role:The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner II will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to high-risk newborns and their families. This role involves attending high-risk deliveries, caring for NICU patients, and coordinating care with Maternal Fetal Medicine and Hopkins Pediatric subspecialists.
Responsibilities:- Take medical histories and perform physical examinations
- Order and interpret laboratory tests
- Perform procedures including intubations, ventilator management, central line placements, thoracentesis, thoracostomy, exchange transfusions, lumbar punctures, suprapubic taps
- Prescribe controlled and non-controlled substances and perform intraosseous (IO) procedures
- Full spectrum of respiratory support devices including bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, conventional and high-frequency ventilators, and inhaled nitric oxide
- Staffed by board-certified neonatologists, neonatology fellows, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
- Opportunities to engage in Research, Education, Mentoring, Informatics, and Patient Safety initiatives
- MSN/DNP from an accredited nursing program or equivalent training for Physician Assistants
- Active Maryland RN and Neonatal CRNP licenses or appropriate Physician Assistant certifications
- BLS, CPR, and NRP certifications
- For new graduate NNPs: 3 years of NICU RN experience required; Physician Assistants considered based on training and relevant work experience
- Active Maryland CDS and Federal DEA licenses
