Job Overview

Sentara Medical Group Pulmonary Critical Care Sleep Specialists Office is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant in Hampton, VA. As a medical assistant, you will perform patient care and administrative tasks based on your training, education, and competency evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care tasks and procedures under the direction of physicians and nurses.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
  • Assist with the development of realistic action plans and evaluate outcomes.
  • Demonstrate effective inter-departmental interactions and ability to follow department and system policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification required.
  • BLS certification within 90 days from hire required.
  • Clinical/administrative experience preferred.
