The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to various locations to perform service and warranty repairs, as well as conducting preventative maintenance tasks.

Compensation: Starting pay is competitive and may increase based on relevant experience in the waste management sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and secure components according to technical specifications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment, including programming PLC controls.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch regarding service challenges.
  • Understand hydraulic schematics and evaluate pressure systems.
  • Ensure equipment is operational by addressing operator concerns, performing inspections, and executing repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Keep tools and equipment in working order by adhering to maintenance protocols and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through ongoing education and technical literature.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Mentor and guide new technicians as they integrate into the team.
Qualifications

The following qualifications are essential for this position:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy equipment mechanics.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Welding skills are mandatory.
  • Experience with diesel trucks or heavy construction machinery is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for professional interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with commercial trash compactors and balers is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
