Key Responsibilities- Assemble and secure components according to technical specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment, including programming PLC controls.
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch regarding service challenges.
- Understand hydraulic schematics and evaluate pressure systems.
- Ensure equipment is operational by addressing operator concerns, performing inspections, and executing repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Keep tools and equipment in working order by adhering to maintenance protocols and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Enhance professional knowledge through ongoing education and technical literature.
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to foster a safe and productive work environment.
- Mentor and guide new technicians as they integrate into the team.
The following qualifications are essential for this position:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy equipment mechanics.
- Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Welding skills are mandatory.
- Experience with diesel trucks or heavy construction machinery is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Familiarity with commercial trash compactors and balers is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
