Job Title: Shop Service Technician

This is a full-time position at Equipment Depot, responsible for the repair and maintenance of electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and batteries, as well as construction and aerial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accept and diagnose work orders from the Service Dispatcher, Planner, and Manager.
  • Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after inspection and analysis, with approval from the Service Manager/Shop Lead.
  • Writes complete repair descriptions on work orders, including model and serial numbers, and hour meter readings.
  • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices, making adjustments as needed.
  • Lubricates moving parts and verifies conformance to specifications before final quality inspection.
  • Turns in paperwork daily, including work orders, time cards, and quotes for work to be done in the shop.
  • Provides guidance to technicians and assists in the completion of repairs when necessary.
  • Opens, reviews, and validates information on work orders throughout the process until billing is complete.
  • Creates and organizes all paperwork generated during shop repairs.
  • Communicates with customers on the status of their shop job via outbound calls.
  • Confirms scheduled maintenance has been performed on all units in the shop for repairs.
  • Answers and responds to incoming customer service calls.
  • Final sign off on shop work orders prior to invoicing.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1 year of related mechanical experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
  • Math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Internet software.
Work Environment:

Work environment varies from office to job site to industrial locations.
