Position Overview:

As an essential member of our team, the Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for safeguarding our merchandise and ensuring a secure shopping environment for our customers. Reporting directly to the Loss Prevention Manager and Store Manager, this role is pivotal in maintaining our commitment to inventory integrity and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educate and guide store personnel on loss prevention strategies and safety protocols, ensuring adherence to established standards and promptly addressing any discrepancies with management.
  • Collaborate with management on investigations involving both internal and external parties.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the store and monitor designated areas as instructed by the Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Assess potential loss risks and provide exemplary service to all customers in line with company expectations.
  • Document all incidents related to safety, theft, and inventory discrepancies, reviewing these reports with the Loss Prevention Manager on a daily basis.
  • Identify inventory shortages and work alongside management to develop effective solutions.
  • Recognize safety hazards and report them immediately to prevent incidents.
  • Assist with audits and inventory assessments as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding sensitive information.
  • Support special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with computer applications, including security software, CCTV systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Understanding of relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Knowledge of surveillance and security equipment.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while performing duties on the sales floor.
Compensation:
  • Salary: $24.50

    *Compensation is determined based on various factors, including experience, education, certifications, and applicable skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and staff.
  • Ability to perform calculations related to discounts and percentages.
  • Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long durations, read from computer screens, and move objects of significant weight.
  • Proficiency in navigating the sales floor and stockroom, including bending, standing, twisting, and climbing.
Schedule Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that accommodates business needs, including evenings and weekends.
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.
