As an Automotive Transmission Specialist/Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing both manual and automatic transmissions in vehicles. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and reliability, fostering customer trust and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:- Disassemble and repair transmission units with precision.
- Install repaired transmissions, replace fluids, and make necessary adjustments.
- Conduct road tests to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Efficiently perform repairs as outlined in repair orders, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate effectively with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to enhance workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Diagnose malfunctions and execute repairs as authorized by customers.
- Conduct thorough multi-point inspections to provide safety recommendations.
- Document all work performed on repair orders accurately.
- Maintain an inventory of essential tools required for your role.
- Stay updated on factory technical bulletins and participate in relevant training sessions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance loyalty.
Your performance will be evaluated based on:
- Achieving targeted production levels.
- Meeting sales goals.
- Maintaining a high Customer Satisfaction Index.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive transmission technician.
- Proven experience in repairing manual and automatic transmissions in a dealership setting.
- Familiarity with Ford and/or General Motors products is advantageous.
- Automotive technical training relevant to the role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid in-state driver's license with a clean driving record.
