Job Title: Building Engineer - Union - Day Shift
Job Summary:
The Building Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of various building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in varying environmental conditions. The engineer will respond to service requests and address emergency situations promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, including air handling units, pumps, and motors.
- Install and maintain electrical circuits and plumbing fixtures.
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance on building systems.
- Execute minor carpentry and electrical tasks as needed.
- Ensure optimal performance of emergency generators and associated systems.
- Document inspections and maintenance activities, providing reports to supervisors.
- Procure necessary materials for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in all maintenance operations.
Qualifications:
- Certification in relevant mechanical trades or trade school in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
- A minimum of five years of experience in building systems operation and maintenance.
- Possession of a valid State of New Jersey Black Seal License.
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Strong knowledge of building auxiliary systems and safety practices.
- Valid driver's license required for operating company vehicles.
Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday
