We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also contributing to the collection of high-quality plasma that will become life-changing medicines.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Eligibility: Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Medical Support: Evaluate donor reactions, manage medical emergencies, and provide guidance on medical or technical issues.
- Quality Assurance: Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, and manage employee incidents.
- Pandemic Response: Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensure: Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Certifications: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification, and fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Experience: Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
