About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at Progression, Inc. as an Information Assurance Analyst.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise stakeholders on information security initiatives, including compliance, awareness, and training, as well as security operations.
  • Lead Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) efforts on security authorization/ATO packages to ensure compliance with agency requirements.
  • Leverage the existing Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool, Telos Xacta (or an alternate like CSAM or RSA Archer), to track and reconcile findings from assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans.
  • Coordinate government data calls (FISMA, FMFIA, BDR, etc.) and monthly reports.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the information security and privacy training program and lead the collection, analysis, and presentation of enterprise-level information security performance metrics.
  • Manage information security program POA&Ms, including advising on remediation efforts.
  • Provide administrative support to Xacta (or equivalent GRC tool) users and authoring operational procedures.
  • Work closely with senior agency security officials, system owners, information system security officers (ISSOs), and other stakeholders to advise and implement security solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in work processes and innovative approaches.
  • Participate in team problem-solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues.
  • Prepare and assist in the development of policy and procedures.
  • Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and develop reports.
  • Prepare and assist in the development of policy and procedures for program-level management and promote consistency in program management best practices.
  • Implement processes and procedures to monitor risk across programs/projects.
  • Prepare briefings to the executive team to debrief the results of studies, analyses, and plans.
Requirements
  • Active Public Trust Required
  • 5+ years of experience applying, selecting, and testing the NIST Rev 4 security controls
  • 5+ years of in-depth knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework
  • 5+ years of experience with a Governance, Risk, and Compliance tool (e.g., Xacta, RSA Archer, CSAM, or eMASS)
  • Intermediate-level cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CGRC) desired
  • In-depth knowledge of applying, selecting, and testing the NIST Rev 5 security controls desired
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Possible travel to the client site/Prime office for badging/equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field and 5 years of relevant IA experience
  • May substitute security certification (e.g., CISSP) for 2 years of experience
