Your Role and Responsibilities

As a manager of Infrastructure Solution Architects, you will oversee a team of 10-14 Solution Architects focused on presales scoping for service contracts.

You will manage escalations from sales teams and prioritize tasks for the Solution Architects. IBM managers are responsible for executing all necessary Human Resource policies and processes for their direct reports.


Collaboration with clients and sales teams will be crucial as you design solutions that align with client business outcomes and established best practices for technology and industry.

In this dynamic role, you will develop and construct a work breakdown structure leading to preliminary estimates, pricing, and statements of work.

A successful Solution Architect will exhibit a natural inclination towards self-motivation, adeptly navigating data and interpersonal dynamics to identify solutions that ensure exceptional delivery.

Comprehensive Technical Guidance: Offering expert technical guidance to facilitate discovery discussions with potential clients, evaluating architectural requirements for projects, and collaborating with technical leads and sales teams to formulate proposals.


Achieving Optimal Architectural Solutions:

Leading client workshops; influencing stakeholders at all levels to derive the best architectural solutions that align with business and technology strategies, translating them into actionable roadmaps with clear execution directions to ensure business value and return on investment.


Overseeing Solution Review Boards:

Developing and contributing to solution review boards for proposals, ensuring oversight for technology assurance, quality, and risk assessment.


Fostering Successful Relationships:

Building and maintaining personal relationships across all levels—from engineers to CIOs—while navigating challenging discussions to achieve constructive resolutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with IBM Systems or Cloud products.
Previous management experience.
Background in services sales.
Experience in service delivery.
Proficiency in services project management.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Cloud Technology Knowledge:
Familiarity with a wide range of Cloud technology solutions.

Consulting Experience in Cloud Solutions:
Experience in consulting for solutions including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and/or Cloud.

Expertise in Cloud Software:

In-depth knowledge of cloud software technologies including IBM Cloud Platform, VMWare, NSX-T, PowerVS, Red Hat OpenShift, high-performance computing, DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, IBM Retain Insights, and AEM on IBM Cloud.
