Electro Mechanical Designer

Selectek is seeking a skilled Electro Mechanical Designer to join their engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience with electrical components.
The role will involve designing and preparing shop drawings and Bills of Material for high voltage switch products. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detail drawings, layouts, and sketches of parts and equipment used by the Transmission Switch Product Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detail drawings and layouts for engineering and fabrication purposes.
- Prepare Bills of Material for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Review and process orders for production.
- Make electrical, mechanical, and structural calculations associated with drawing preparation.
- Initiate changes to existing drawings as assigned by Senior Designer or Application Engineer.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Mechanical or Electrical design experience.
- Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc).
- Proficient with AutoCAD.
Job Details:
The focus of the role will be creating shop drawings for switch applications. The successful candidate will make changes to existing core drawings to customize the equipment for clients' needs.
The role will involve ensuring the drawings are clean and helping with the creation of Bills of Material and general arrangement drawings. Some of the role will include electrical drawings.
Pay and Benefits:
$20/hour - $27/hour depending on experience. 6 months contract to hire. Hourly eligible for overtime.
Location and Hours:
Hampton, GA 30228. Monday - Friday 8AM – 5PM. Can possibly start at 7am/7:30am after training.
Work Environment:
Business casual. No work from home or remote work.
Overtime and Travel:
Occasional overtime. No travel required.
