Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Rail Car Mechanic to join our team at CP. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our freight car equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on freight car equipment, including trucks, under-frame, structure, safety appliances, braking systems, and draft systems.
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify and address any issues or defects.
- Perform welding, torch cutting, and other repairs as needed.
- Operate hand power tools and other equipment to complete tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma required.
- Possession of a journeyman welder and/or commercial driver's license is an asset.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow safety instructions and guidelines.
- Dedication to safety and ability to complete work within guidelines and rules.
