Job Summary:

As a Rail Maintenance Assistant with Holland America-Princess Alaska-Yukon Land Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rail cars. This position requires a strong understanding of maintenance procedures and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist senior mechanics with repair and maintenance of rail cars
* Perform nightly checks and repairs per FRA regulations and compliance
* Use software programs for tracking parts inventory and repairs
* Clean and service HVAC-R equipment regularly
* Maintain workspaces and promote shop safety by cleaning work areas and removing hazardous materials
* Test electrical circuits and other related components using electrical testing equipment
* Perform routine preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds

Requirements:

* One year of experience in maintenance positions
* Ability to lift 50 lbs
* Must pass a pre-employment background check
* Minimum age of 18 years required to reside in company housing, where available
