Director of Social Work Opportunity

West Oaks Hospital, a leading provider of psychiatric care, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Social Work to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing, facilitating, and monitoring the quality of social services to meet the goals of West Oaks Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the social work department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Admission and Assessment Process: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provides Clinical Services: Provide direct care to patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Group Therapy: Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions to promote patient engagement and progress.
  • On-Site School Administrator: Oversee the on-site school program, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations.

    • Build Talent: Utilize established interviewing and selection processes to select the right candidates for the right roles.

    • Manage Conflict: Address and resolve conflicts in a constructive and respectful manner.
    • Functional Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in social work, including Joint Commission standards and other regulatory requirements.
    • Quality and Process Improvement: Focus on quality, patient safety, and error reduction, applying best practices to continuously improve services and methods.
    • Manage Resources: Effectively utilize internal and external resources to address problems and develop creative solutions.
    • Manage Change: Respond to new regulations, changing economic conditions, and other external factors that impact the organization.
    • Communication and Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with professionals, physicians, and community stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling/Social Work, or related field
  • Licensure and Certification: LPC-I, LPC, LMFT-A, LMFT, LCSW, or LMSW in Texas
  • Experience: Five (5) years of post-master's experience and/or as a licensed professional in a psychiatric setting or related field; and 3 years of management experience
