Position Information:The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizing requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems, this professional evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Responsibilities include performing quality control procedures, contributing to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies, and assisting in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation. This role may assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions, such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems. The Medical Laboratory Scientist II trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements:- 2 years of clinical experience in a moderate and high-complexity testing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with required licensure/certification
- American Society for Clinical Pathology or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel certification
10p-6a (1 shift/week)
Weekend and Call Requirements:As needed
