POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Underwriter to enhance our Cyber team. This influential role presents a unique opportunity for a motivated and innovative individual to engage in the development of a rapidly expanding portfolio while tackling complex challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate, price, and underwrite intricate and emerging Cyber risks in alignment with Relm's risk appetite to meet profitability, retention, and premium targets.
  • Draft, negotiate, and prepare policy and endorsement language.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with brokers and policyholders to create new distribution networks and sales avenues.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, presenting as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational objectives and promote cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support strategic underwriting initiatives by maintaining relevant management information for effective portfolio assessment.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external underwriting standards, regulatory guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Participate in special projects and tasks aimed at fostering continuous improvement and growth within Relm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Cyber insurance underwriting or broking.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, insurance, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Strong connections with key brokers in BDA, US, and UK markets.
  • Proficient in negotiating, preparing, and drafting policy and endorsement documents.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Creative problem-solver with strong analytical skills and an ethical approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Mac OS is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with comfort in leading client and broker meetings.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard hours and travel internationally as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional certification in insurance underwriting, such as CPCU, ACII, AU, or similar.
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of Blockchain, Alternative Therapeutics, Biotech, Autonomous Vehicles, Cannabis, or AI.
