Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement fleet management strategies, including fleet specification and design, vehicle acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and replacement.
- Ensure that all vehicles meet safety and environmental standards, including emissions regulations.
- Manage regular maintenance and repairs to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
- Develop and manage the fleet services budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and repairs.
- Analyze fleet costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to fleet operations, including DOT regulations and vehicle inspections.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures for fleet operations, including driver training and vehicle safety inspections.
- Manage vehicle leases, titles, registrations, tags, warranties, recalls, and all applicable inspections.
- Manage fleet disposal, including end-of-life vehicle disposal, auction, or lease returns.
- Manage relationships with vehicle manufacturers, leasing companies, fuel providers, and maintenance vendors.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics, such as fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilization.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in fleet management, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management practices, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with fleet management software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in an office environment as well as in field locations, including vehicle maintenance facilities.
- Ability to conduct vehicle inspections, which may involve bending, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
