Job Summary

The Engineering Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of hospital buildings, grounds, vehicles, facilities, equipment, and electrical and mechanical devices. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to perform skilled work of moderate to significant difficulty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical devices to identify proper operation and initiate repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with team leadership to requisition parts and supplies for maintenance and repair projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, facilities, and devices to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
  • Respond to emergent maintenance needs and communicate effectively with leadership and incident command to resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including exterior maintenance, cleaning mechanical rooms, landscaping work, and transporting equipment for repair.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years of experience performing maintenance and repair projects, including experience in all forms of maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a large facility maintenance role.
