Job Title: Family Law Paralegal

Lawyers On Demand is seeking a highly skilled Family Law Paralegal to support our clients in delivering exceptional legal services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing family law cases, drafting documents, and providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day activities of family law cases, including reviewing, organizing, and analyzing cases.
  • Draft and prepare documents, including pleadings, complaints, stipulations, and proposed orders.
  • Meet with case-assigned attorneys and clients to discuss case progress and provide updates.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support case decisions.
  • Prepare business income and marital estate summaries, inventories, settlement statements, and pretrial statements.
  • Handle case and attorney preparation for court appearances and exhibit creation.
  • Manage client documentation, including marital estates, and prepare summaries and statements.
  • Responsible for obtaining proper service and handling case deadlines.
  • Provide exceptional support to attorneys and clients, including responding to correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
  • Act as a mediator between attorney and client in dealing with legal and emotional aspects of a case.
  • Conduct investigations and gather information to support case decisions.
  • File, organize, and maintain client files.
  • Stay current with legal library materials and use all available resources to deliver efficient and effective legal services.
Requirements:
  • A paralegal certificate or associate degree is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of paralegal experience supporting mid-size family law practice is required, with significant legal writing skills and case analysis.
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, iManage, guideline support calculations, Lexis, Westlaw, and legal search engines.
  • Must have experience in drafting pleadings and documents and preparing cases for complex family law litigation.
  • Must possess working knowledge of family law, state and county rules, and procedures.
  • Must exhibit a high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment.
  • Must be an excellent project manager and superior communicator.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a team player.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Must be able to work comfortably and confidently with clients.
  • Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a high level acquired through formal education, paralegal training, and experience.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Lawyers On Demand offers flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending on experience level and specific skills requested by the client, candidate's general skill set, applicability of candidate skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors.
