Compensation:$50,000 - $80,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:This role involves working closely with an attorney throughout all stages of litigation.
- Primary duties include supporting the attorney from initial case intake through trial preparation and settlement.
- Ideal candidates should have experience in case management, including calendaring, ordering and reviewing medical documentation, drafting legal pleadings, and engaging with personal injury clients.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is complete prior to filing.
- Prepare legal actions and coordinate service of process.
- Draft written discovery and set up depositions.
- Inform clients of their responsibilities and deadlines.
- Manage the attorney's schedule effectively.
- Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery documents as required.
- File legal documents and follow up with courts or third-party entities.
- Handle the attorney's correspondence and communications.
- Proactively oversee the personal injury case docket.
- Facilitate and manage the settlement process and disbursement of funds.
- Contribute to the enhancement of firm processes and operational systems.
- Applicants should have a solid understanding of Texas Court rules and procedures.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in paralegal or litigation roles is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail are essential.
- Must possess a system for task organization and prioritization.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities are required.
- Capability to work independently, manage substantial workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with legal software and a willingness to learn new applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
