Job Title: Bilingual Counselor/Social Worker

Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School (CRIPCS) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Counselor/Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will provide direct and indirect clinical services to our students, helping them navigate life's challenges and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group short-term mental health counseling to students
  • Conduct individual assessments and make referrals to appropriate social agencies and services
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops on mental health topics with assigned teachers
  • Organize and conduct individual and group career counseling services
  • Assist students with college or vocational program applications, including financial aid and tours
  • Collect and synthesize student data to develop individual profiles and reports
  • Maintain student files and update records in our Maestro System
  • Create and conduct workshops on students' and teachers' needs
  • Assist in organizing special events and student government association activities
  • Perform other duties as requested to achieve outstanding school and student objectives
Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent experience
  • License in the District of Columbia or working towards a license
  • Minimum of two years experience in mental health counseling, school counseling, or school social work
  • Experience guiding and counseling linguistically and culturally diverse adult students is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse populations
  • Ability to fluently speak a foreign language (Spanish or Amharic preferred)
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings
  • Must be able to provide proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination
