Job Summary

The Senior Division Accountant role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and reconcile financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in overseeing and monitoring daily operations of assigned areas
  • Monitor financials, coordinate the collection and consolidation of financial data, and prepare standard and special reports
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices, current and proposed legislation, and regulations; recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Work with the Accounting Manager to develop and implement fiscal strategies for the organization
  • Lead departmental projects, including the implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Complete month-end and fiscal year-end financial reports
  • Review and analyze complex accounting issues
  • Provide coaching and training to Staff Accountants
Requirements
  • Advanced accounting knowledge and skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Office and other accounting software
  • Process orientation with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, 2+ years of construction project accounting experience
