The Senior Division Accountant role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Process and reconcile financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist the Accounting Manager in overseeing and monitoring daily operations of assigned areas
- Monitor financials, coordinate the collection and consolidation of financial data, and prepare standard and special reports
- Maintain knowledge of best practices, current and proposed legislation, and regulations; recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Work with the Accounting Manager to develop and implement fiscal strategies for the organization
- Lead departmental projects, including the implementation of new policies and procedures
- Complete month-end and fiscal year-end financial reports
- Review and analyze complex accounting issues
- Provide coaching and training to Staff Accountants
- Advanced accounting knowledge and skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Office and other accounting software
- Process orientation with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent; MBA preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, 2+ years of construction project accounting experience
