Salesforce DevOps Engineering Manager Job Description

The Salesforce DevOps Engineering Manager is a key role within our organization, responsible for leading the development and implementation of Salesforce solutions. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define development objectives and evolve existing applications and architecture as needed.
  • Exercise best-in-class process control, designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and end-to-end SDLC processes to drive system development.
  • Devise and implement quality assurance strategies, defining QA processes to ensure all systems are tested systematically.
  • Coordinate development planning, marking releases in code archives, preparing and testing installers, and distributing release notes.
  • Execute system deployment, ensuring sites are ready to receive new releases and establishing processes for reporting issues and rolling back releases with minimal downtime.
  • Drive flawless project execution, overseeing SDLC and ensuring adherence to project plans and development standards.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on Schools Systems development methodologies, deliverables, and industry trends.
  • Manage development budgets efficiently and effectively, building and monitoring budgets closely and outlining deviations promptly to cost centre owners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years' experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering applications to end users.
  • 7+ years' experience in managing a team that focuses on Salesforce implementation and configuration.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
  • Able to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions.
  • Extensive skills in troubleshooting a wide range of technology-related systems using a range of technical skills and knowledge.
  • Multi-tasking capable and highly flexible.
  • Demonstrated record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader, and/or development manager.
  • Experience in Scrum methodology and Agile practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in working with software vendors.
  • Prior experience in Education a plus but not a pre-requisite.
  • Strong logical and analytical thinker.
  • Strong technical support documentation skills.
