Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Aircraft Engineer, you'll be part of a team that provides 24x7x365 engineering technical support for our worldwide fleet of operational aircraft to ensure timely return to service. You'll have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, swings, or midnight shift, which will improve your time off and give you more opportunities to enjoy your travel benefits.

  • You'll fix and find solutions, perform repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, interiors, flight controls, systems, and avionics.
  • You'll provide engineering assistance to maintenance consisting of technical data research, process development, and procedure clarification and direction vital to maintain continued airworthiness of the aircraft.
  • You'll be responsible for investigation, root cause analysis, and development of corrective action plans for chronic aircraft issues as they pertain to aircraft systems.
  • You'll develop substantiating data for aircraft equipment design/repairs through knowledge of aircraft operational characteristics, materials, and processes.
  • You'll perform technical engineering substantiations through sophisticated engineering analysis by hand and computer software programs.
  • You'll author and continually evaluate/improve UAL engineering processes and procedures.

You'll be engaged in all types of maintenance and engineering activities, including investigating maintenance problems during line and overnight maintenance and initiating corrective actions to return aircraft to service in a timely manner. You'll collaborate and work with both internal and external customers to address technical issues, provide work scope recommendations, and investigate failures. You'll also coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency.

This position is located at IAH (Houston, TX) and requires Aircraft Systems and Avionics experience. Shifts are dependent on work location and assignment and will be designated during the interview process as required. It's essential to note that shifts may change based on the needs of the operation.
