Role Responsibilities:

The EHR Support Specialist plays a crucial role in training, assisting, and supporting staff in utilizing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system effectively in relation to patient care and data management. This position requires expertise in EHR software, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and familiarity with data management protocols and healthcare regulations. The primary objective is to ensure that our electronic health records system operates efficiently, securely, and effectively supports high-quality patient care. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as some evening and weekend work may be necessary.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, managers, nurses, and support staff to evaluate and recommend enhancements to clinical workflows and application functionalities for improved operational consistency and efficiency.
  • Engage with managers and providers to assess and enhance workflow efficiency through the EHR application.
  • Customize and configure EHR clinical modules to optimize clinician efficiency and enhance patient care quality.
  • Work alongside executive leadership to develop, monitor, and achieve annual quality objectives and goals.
  • Gather feedback on system development, functionality, upgrades, and performance.
  • Create and maintain training materials and exercises for users of clinical information systems, including user manuals and reference materials.
  • Stay informed about institutional clinical systems and relevant clinical policies and procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for system issues and assist employees with IT-related inquiries.
  • Conduct training sessions, needs assessments, program evaluations, and proficiency assessments for end-users.
  • Collaborate with other facilities and organizations to optimize system utilization.
  • Participate in EHR-related webinars, training sessions, and conference calls to remain updated on changes.
  • Engage in network-wide clinical meetings as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
