Adventist HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Med Surg Unit. Our mission is to provide holistic care that encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, your role will include:

• Assisting with essential service duties and routine technical tasks, including monitoring vital signs and supporting activities of daily living under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

• Adapting to specific responsibilities that may differ based on your assigned area.

• Being attentive to the unique needs and behaviors of various patient populations.

• Engaging in departmental and organizational educational programs, meetings, and professional initiatives.

• Committing to your personal and professional growth to effectively navigate ongoing changes in the healthcare environment.

• Presenting a positive and professional image that reflects the values of nursing and our organization.

• Following care plans as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse.

• Receiving and processing reports from the Registered Nurse.

• Promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.

• Identifying necessary resources for the safe delivery of patient care.

• Reporting any malfunctioning or expired equipment and supplies.

• Ensuring cleanliness and proper storage of work areas and equipment.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED is required.

• A valid Maryland CNA license is mandatory.

• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.

• At least one year of recent experience in a hospital setting with proficient computer skills.

• Capability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication.

Work Schedule:

Availability for some holidays and weekends is required.
