Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IMS Systems Programming Expert to join our team. As a key member of our database administration group, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IMS database environment.

About the Role:

  • Implement and maintain IMS database configurations, including security settings and access control.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues, working closely with vendors and internal teams.
  • Develop and document database recovery procedures, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of new applications with existing database systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IMS releases and technologies, applying knowledge to improve system performance and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IMS systems programming and database administration.
  • Expertise in CA and IBM tools for IMS, such as CA 1 and IBM DBRC.
  • Knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with online tracing, debugging, and problem-solving techniques.

Estimated Salary Range: $110,000 - $160,000 per year.
