We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team at Elevations Credit Union. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for originating mortgage loans in an assigned territory, developing referral relationships with realtors, builders, bankers, and other sources to proactively solicit business and conduct sales-related activities to meet specific loan volume origination goals.
Key Responsibilities- Counsel customers, take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews, and submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval using laptop technology.
- Remain front-line contact with customers and realtors to ensure that documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner.
- Interview and assist members, input loan applications into online loan systems, monitor online queues of member-originated loans, review files for completeness and accuracy, and communicate with loan processors/closers regarding any outstanding items or additional documentation needed.
- Deliver Good Faith Estimates/TIL disclosures within 72 hours of application date and communicate terms and conditions of approved loans with members.
- Assist with processing and loan closing coordination with members, cross-sell other credit union services, and keep informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending.
- Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
- Minimum of two years' experience in Mortgage Loan Officer role in a similar organization.
- Experience with FNMA Desktop Underwriter, FHLMC, FHA, and VA, PC Lender, and Mortgage processing systems.
