Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $31,200, based on a 40-hour workweek and an hourly rate of $15.00.

About the Role

This position involves monitoring designated areas to ensure compliance with parking policies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service by answering questions about directions, events, building locations, and parking regulations.
  • Issuing citations and warnings for non-compliance using computerized handheld devices or manual tickets. Impounding, booting, or relocating vehicles as directed.
  • Maintaining proper judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with people.
  • Assisting maintenance staff with duties related to parking equipment and facility upkeep, such as inspecting lots, painting, cleaning, and repairing meters and machines.
  • Assisting with the collection and security of monies received through parking meters, multi-space machines, pay-on-foot technology, and other means of collecting parking revenues and fees.
  • Supporting event staff with activities related to parking for events, including setting up, traffic control, receipt of payment, and lot usage control.
  • Assisting office staff with permit sales during peak seasons, including data entry, mailings, and frontline customer service.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess certain traits and abilities, including:

  • A thorough knowledge of the area's geography.
  • An understanding of hazards and safety precautions.
  • The ability to use handheld computers effectively.
  • The capacity to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
  • The ability to comprehend and apply parking regulations accurately.
  • A courteous and tactful manner when interacting with others.
  • The physical stamina to walk for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.

Work Schedule

This role may require special shift requirements, which will vary depending on the location's hiring needs. Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be necessary.

Driver's License Requirement

A valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and acceptable driving record is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and listen. You will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including snowstorms and extreme heat. Be safety-conscious at all times.
