Job Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician/Welder role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Performing regular maintenance and repairs on machines and equipment, including furnaces, sifters, elevators, and bag houses
  2. Carrying out welding, pipefitting, electrical, and mechanical tasks, as well as general repairs
  3. Diagnosing and resolving issues with electrical systems, compressors, and wiring
  4. Collaborating with colleagues and departments to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively
  5. Managing physical repair parts and maintaining accountability
  6. Working safely and reliably, adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  7. Ensuring compliance with environmental permits and good neighbor principles
  8. Monitoring bag house emissions and other sources of glass dust
  9. Participating in plant-wide initiatives, activities, and volunteering for the Safety Committee


Requirements
To excel in this role, you must possess:
  1. A High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  3. Background in welding and fabrication
  4. Understanding of ISO Management Systems, Continuous Quality Improvement Principles, and Statistical Process Controls
  5. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, as well as follow instructions
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills, decision-making abilities, and teamwork experience
  7. Familiarity with strict adherence to safety principles, good housekeeping practices, and working in a physically demanding environment
  8. Solid work history with no attendance issues


This role comes with a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. To be considered, applicants must pass a background check, BMV check, and drug screen.
